Surrounded by nature, mountains and well kept houses, it was almost like a dream, having flown for only two hours to reach Salzburg, Austria. A new surrounding, tranquil scenery and probably the freshest air you will ever breath. Greeted by the Widauer family members that own the Hotel, shared their warm welcomes and made you feel at home. A combination of nature, timeless architecture, culinary culture and a sense of well-being has since determined the success of the Hotel and spa. A holiday for the senses at 1,050 metres altitude – alphine flair, adventure, lounge music, DJ music and wellness with 360 degree panoramic views. In sunshine, heavy snowfall, metre-high snow, rain, wind or storm, the Forsthofalm is always an experience and an adventure. The green lifestyle wooden hotel. Designed by Architects Alfred Waltl & Nicole Walks-Piffer from W2 Manufaktur in Leogang, they were commissioned to plan and design the seven-storey hotel at an altitude of 1050 metres. The objective was to focus on creating a harmonious entity incorporating the original wooden hotel and to define the architecture by means of high-quality craftsmanship and a simple yet expressive use of shape and form. Using first-class materials, reflecting their own personal expectations of a ‘lifestyle’ hotel through an open, light-flooded design with fluid transitions from one space to another within the building. The interior architecture continues the line of the outer shell. Natural materials with an authentic look and feel, as well as individually crafted works of art determine the spaces, imbuing them with a sense of liveliness and comfort. Spending holidays in an environmentally-friendly eco-hotel; saving energy with a well-planned waste, water and energy concept and built with natural materials which are allowed to grow old gracefully and are recyclable.
